SinterFire is Built on Technology and Innovation
We design, develop and manufacture lead-free, frangible, ammunition components.
Over the last several years, SinterFire has been quietly developing and testing products to address the "green" concept of frangible projectiles in specific-use ammunition products. Lead exposure has become a major health concern at shooting and training facilities and a serious liability issue for range owners and operators.
All SinterFire products are manufactured using an exclusive blend of copper/tin composite materials and contain no traces of lead, have no jacket, plating or surface treatment and have performance characteristics designed into a full-bodied projectile. Performance characteristics include; controlled frangibility, reduced hazard, no ricochet, inherent accuracy, increased velocity, reduced chamber pressures and decreased bore wear.
Positioned to Supply the World
This manufacturing facility is newly constructed and equipped with close tolerance production and processing equipment. Annual production capacity has increased to near 400 million components.

The Product
SinterFire designs and manufactures all of its components. We have complete control of all products and operations. We do not outsource. SinterFire has developed exclusive metal composite materials based on copper/tin with proprietary lubricants. A controlled amount of dry lubricant is retained at the bullet surface as well as being impregnated throughout the finished component. The benefits of retained lubricant include: increased velocity at reduced pressures, reduced bore fouling, increased barrel life and ease of bore clean-up. All materials are "green" and environmentally friendly. All bullets are 100% lead free and do not use any type of jacketing or plating material. The materials are pure, virgin and certified. Performance characteristics of the projectile are calculated using a SinterFire database. Proven combinations provide consistent and repeatable results. Accuracy, function, reliability, frangibility, fragmentation, ballistic matching, appearance and attention to detail are important. Quality is not compromised for low cost.

The Process
The SinterFire process is both very simple but very complicated. Good designs, efficient manufacturing operations and control of the processes are a must. Metal composite materials are blended and compressed under tonnage and heated to a temperature that induces a metallurgical change. The heat treatment process is done in a controlled inert atmosphere using specialized equipment with strict and redundant controls. The variability of materials and processes are endless and a very small change to any of the elements will effect a very large change in ultimate performance. A quality system using Statistical Process Control is in place to document the manufacturing processes and critical characteristics of frangible bullets.
