SinterFire® USA News updated: September 1, 2006What's New?SinterFire® is expanding! SinterFire® recently completed an expansion and upgrade project at its home office and manufacturing facility in Kersey, Pennsylvania. The 10,000 sq. ft. expansion creates additional manufacturing capacity along with an upgraded office area and a conferencing center. The new facility houses 22,000 sq. ft. and is dedicated to the design, development and manufacturing of lead free, frangible and reduced hazard projectiles. Established in 1998, SinterFire® has become the recognized leader for the manufacturing of lead free projectiles. Innovative designs, endless product development, efficient manufacturing operations and a dedicated workforce allow SinterFire® to maintain a high level of quality, consistency and productivity. Located in Northwestern Pennsylvania, SinterFire® maintains two facilities within the Fox Township Industrial Park. The newly expanded manufacturing facility sits on a 3 acre site. Additionally, SinterFire® owns and maintains a 6 acre testing/development and shooting complex within the Industrial Park. This facility is adjacent to the manufacturing facility. The combination of facilities provides for expanded product lines and future product/manufacturing opportunities. As stated by Joe Benini, President & CEO: “This 1 million dollar re-investment project has doubled our physical size and demonstrates our long term commitment to the industry and to the continued support of our loyal customers worldwide”
We’re closing the gap on high pricing! Anyone familiar with the metals’ market is fully aware of the un-settled nature of pricing and its effect on the price of ammunition. Although the skyrocketing price of raw materials (specifically lead, copper and tin) continues to challenge the ammunition industry, there is good news. SinterFire’s® forward planning and investment in new technology is paying-off in the cost-control of its lead free bullet products. The SinterFire lead free, copper-tin composite projectiles have seen less of a cost increase than those manufactured with lead. With “specific purpose” automation and efficient manufacturing processes, we have actually implemented cost-downs for SinterFire® projectiles when compared to bullet components manufactured from lead. As an example; a typical SinterFire® 9mm, 100 grain bullet manufactured in 1998 sold for $70.00 per 1000. A typical 9mm, 100 grain bullet sold in 2006 for $71.00 per 1000. Most of the cost-control has been due to increased manufacturing efficiencies and….we’re not finished yet! The same cannot be said for lead bullets. SinterFire® uses only prime and virgin materials to produce its products. The quality remains high as does our customer service and on-time delivery. We will not sacrifice quality for low cost materials. The pain of poor performance lingers-on long after the cheap price has been forgotten”
What’s in a name? SinterFire® has earned worldwide name recognition! We travel the world in search of new applications, customers and end users. When the terms lead-free, frangible or reduced hazard are used in the bullet and ammunition industry, SinterFire® is the recognized producer and source for these projectiles. This name recognition has been earned over the years and stands for consistent quality, high performance and un-compromised customer service.
New products and applications. SinterFire® is continuously designing and developing new products for new and existing applications. Recently, SinterFire® released a family of .50BMG projectiles and has entered into an exclusive supply agreement with a major ammunition manufacturer. This product is designed for training as well as duty applications and will be used in both conventional and tracer variations. SinterFire® is actively designing and developing large caliber projectiles for various military applications. SinterFire® encourages joint development arrangements/agreements and co-development projects. Look for new product offerings from ammo manufacturers including Kilgore and Fiocchi of America. And as always, we fully support our friends and the ammunition products from CCI-Speer (Lawman RHT), Federal Cartridge Corporation (Ballisticlean) and Winchester (Frangible SF). Look for the SinterFire name & logo on these and other lead free ammunition products. And remember…if it doesn’t say SinterFire®…it’s not the real thing!
